DELTA LG: I’ll broaden economic base of Warri North – ASHIMA

 

Ahead of the Local Government election in Delta State, the chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Warri North, Festus Ashima, has reaffirmed his determination to lead a new surge of growth in building a strong, and healthy local government when elected as Chairman.

He stated that he has everything necessary to create a council that will be the envy of others. Warri North is endowed with productive human and material resources that can consolidate on the MORE AGENDA of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

He said: “I am in the Chairman ship race to broaden the base of economic participation in Warri North Local Government Council by making effective use of our natural resources for the overall development of our people and communities. We will open the Warri North economy to all who bring new capital, new knowledge, new ideas, and new levels of efficiency through an investment that will generate massive employment for young people.”

In a statement by a member of the Warri North Campaign Council, Lucky Atu, the candidate said: “We cannot continue to lament that we are a riverine community when we can leverage our environment as a comparative advantage. I will not be a lamenting Chairman, but I will solicit  for support and investors to make Warri North and enviable council area.”.

The former Warri North Councillor, who believes he is the best candidate for the job, also promised to unite the local government around a common vision and broaden the base of unity already built by our leaders in the council area.

He said: “I will anchor my administration on people’s empowerment as the engine for the operational use of economic growth, social equity, and local solidarity in building a Politically United Council where everybody will become somebody through effective utilisation of our vast human resources in meeting public expectations.
